Global Teachers Inquiry Project Final Forum Registration

The Global Teachers Inquiry Project (GTIP) was established in the winter of 2012-13 as an opportunity for a group of social studies teachers to participate in a professional learning community focused on dialogue and reflection about the collective experiences of teaching the inquiry and action based Global Issues curriculum that was in its infancy at the time. An additional focus of the group was for teachers to engage in action research projects in order to find ways to gauge the effectiveness of teaching and learning strategies and thus improve student engagement and encourage meaningful learning experiences. In the 2015-16 year, the GTIP group expanded in order to include other social science courses, and other content areas.

In 2021-22, Manitoba Education provided financial support for teachers to meet four times throughout the year: to formulate questions, to make a plan for inquiry, and to share their inquiries within their peer groups. This forum will provide the opportunity for 10 teachers from across the province to share their inquiries with the larger community.

REGISTRATION

On Friday, May 6th, we hope to bring teacher candidates, graduate students, and educators together to celebrate teacher research. Using the registration form below, you will need to register for the event, and choose four teacher inquiry presentations that you would like to see throughout the day. The forum will be an in-person event, in the Education Building, U of M.

PLEASE NOTE: if you are a practicing K-12 teacher, you will need to get approval from your division to attend before registering. There is financial support for a few teachers to attend from each division.

ALSO NOTE: As we are providing breakfast and lunch, we have limited registration to 100 people. Out of respect, please do not register if you are unable to attend. This will not only take a space away from someone else, it will cost our group.
